OUR Carpenter Fishing Rods are available in many types to suit type of lures n fish targets, let
me start with the rods we have in stock : -
- SP ( Super Popping ) series are most suitable for casting large mouthed surface poppers
but can be used for large pencil poppers. Primarily a GT rod but some accomplished
caster have managed to catch big YFTs with this rod, certainly not for the beginners in the
popping technique.
- DJ ( Discovery Journey ) series are most suitable for casting pencil popper but can be
used for working with the stickbait. Designed to give advantage to beginners using the
popping technique to cast a long distance to equalise their peers with the use of a more
specialized rods. 83ML is designed to cast light lures ( 60 gr. ) to the required distance
when targeting schooling YFTs.
- LR ( Long Reef ) series are most suitable for those who have passed the initial stage of
mastering the popping technique. This rod is an " all purpose " rod that can cast surface /
pencil poppers and stickbaits a long distance. If one only aims to own one popping rod for
all the tasks, LR88 is the rod for such person.
- TBL ( The Blue Lagoon ) series are specifically designed to work with stickbaits, a relatively
new technique in targeting GT / YFT. The technique has proven to be effective to catch
other " colateral " catches such as wahoo, tenggiri, etc.. 80/30RF SHP is for use with PE6
and 711/35RF is for use with up to PE8 line.
- WV ( Wild Violet ) series is the most popular GT rod for those who go to exotic GT
destinations such as Komodo, Australian's prime GT areas, African coast, etc.. certainly not
for beginners and only the strongest anglers can utilise this rod to it's fullest potentials.
Many use PE10 ( 130 lbs.) to target GT in areas where " NO LINE OUT " technique is a
neccessity.
- OH series is the basic idea of the carpenter rod. OH56MH-S and OH55XH-S are the
spinning reel version of Carpenter jigging rods while OH54MH-B and OH52XH-B are the
conventional reel version of Carpenter jigging rods. All Carpenter jigging rods are
designed for deep water jigging with strong current prevalency targetting big fish. They are
conservatively rated and light enough but at the same time powerful to help the angler fight
the big fish.
